London is a whirling, overwhelming, relentless smorgasboard of…stuff. A bubble of brilliance that everyone outside its clutches likes to sneer at because they’re secretly jealous their town only has a Pizza Express.
Exhibitions from old masters and bright new things, supper-clubs in Kilburn (cheers Ms Marmite) and fine dining Savoy-style on the Strand. Flea markets in Dalston and flower markets in Hackney. Riverside canal cafes for a coffee and posh bars with towering cityscape views for a cocktail. So why do I sometimes find myself struggling for inspiration at the weekends? A quick flick through the Time Out website brings up the same old, tired suggestions (it’s obsessed with telling me to go and see The Woman in Black…I don’t want to Time Out, ok?!)
